Computers for Senior Citizens
Yukon High School Leadership students will work one-on-one with senior adults on projects of your choice. Do you want to create, save, or edit a letter? Can you e-mail an attachment from Microsoft Word or Excel? Do you want to catalog your books, possessions, or household inventory? We’ll do our best to help you! All classes meet at the YHS 9/10 computer lab

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word allows you to type letters, memos, and reports. Instruction will cover mouse movements, formatting tools, saving documents, and setting tabs and margins. Other topics include tool bars, multiple windows, and editing. Instructor: Tom Grayam

PowerPoint presentations bring any speech or demonstration to life. Learn to accessorize your project and keep your audience engaged with easy to learn fundamentals. Instructor: Tom Grayam

Computers: One-on-One
Do you prefer one-on-one attention working at your own speed on topics of your choosing or do you need specialized help without the distraction of others?  Adult students may enroll for as many sessions as needed. These sessions will be arranged for individualized instruction on an hourly basis. Topics available with this instructor are listed below:

Introduction to Computers, Operating Systems, Networks, Internet: Includes basic concepts of operation, maintenance, data storage and retrieval, and file management and sharing. This does not include programming.

Word Processing: Includes document creation, formatting, proofreading, editing, Web integration, linking and embedding, mail merge, and tables.

Spreadsheets: Includes financial report creation, formatting, editing, charting, calculations, formulas, Web integration, linking, and embedding.

E-Mail: Includes setting up and using an e-mail account, address books, file attachments, and business protocol.

Employment Preparation: Includes resumes, portfolios, application, and interview technique development.
