Pre-K and KinderDoor are during-the-school day programs for children attending Pre-K and Kindergarten classes at Central, Myers, Parkland, Ranchwood, Shedeck, Skyview and Surrey Hills elementaries. The tuition includes before-school, morning or afternoon, and after-school child care while the children remain at school. This fun, safe and structured environment provides creative time, crafts, library time, group games and free play time. The children also have recess with other classes, rest/nap time, experience music and creative movement and enjoy snacks. KinderDoor reinforces the kindergarten classroom by using age-appropriate materials. Students who are in any Open Door/KinderDoor program must be able to take care of their own personal needs. Handbooks are provided to the parents for each child.

Enrollment Fees and Payments

A non-refundable enrollment fee of $20 for the first child plus $15 enrollment fee for each additional child will be charged. If a child misses school due to illness or other reason, the full payment will still be due each payment period. If payment is not paid on time, a late fee will be charged. A variety of payment options are available.

For childcare expense or taxes contact Yukon Community Education office at 354-2579. Community Education accepts cash, checks, VISA and MasterCard and all payments should be directed to the Community Education office.

Craft Fees

In order to maintain the current daily fees, a $25 per semester craft fee will also be charged.

[Daily Late Charges]

Daily late charges from 6:01 to 6:05pm are $5 per child. Additional late charges are $1 per minute per child for each succeeding minute. When a parent is going to be late, a call to the "KinderDoor" room would be appreciated; however, the late charge will still be assessed and payment is expected immediately. Please keep your emergency pick-up list current.

[Meals]

Breakfast will be available through the school cafeteria for a minimal charge. The children may buy lunch from the cafeteria or bring a sack lunch. Parents may open an account with the school cafeteria for food purchases.

[Needs]

A pillow, blanket, and sheet and a favorite thing to hug for rest time would be appropriate. Rest/nap time is approximately one and a half to two hours each day during movie time. A supply list is available from KinderDoor. (Please confirm supply list before purchasing supplies).

Anytime Yukon Schools are closed KinderDoor is also closed.
