“Open Door” is a before and after-school care program that allows children to stay at their home school. This convenient, reliable and entertaining program is affordable and offers dependable care for children in first through fifth grades. Children are under the care of a supervisor and an assistant. Snacks are provided and each child is encouraged to do homework before enjoying recreational activities. Students who are in any Open Door program must be able to take care of their own personal needs. Handbooks are provided to the parents for each child.

Before-School is offered at Central, Myers, Parkland, Ranchwood, Shedeck, Skyview and Surrey Hills.

After-School is offered at Central, Myers, Parkland, Ranchwood, Shedeck, Skyview and Surrey Hills.

Pre-K and/or KinderDoor are available at Central, Myers, Parkland, Ranchwood, Shedeck, Skyview and Surrey Hills. Enrollment for any “Open Door” program is open throughout the year on a space available basis.

Enrollment Fees and Payments

A non-refundable enrollment fee of $20 for the first child plus $15 enrollment fee for each additional child will be charged. If a child misses school due to illness or other reason, the full payment will still be due each payment period. If the payment is not paid on time, an additional $5 per day, per child, late payment fee will be added until payment is brought up to date.

Scheduled payment options are limited to monthly or flex tickets. Contact the CE office for payment amounts. Each child must have their own plan. Community Education accepts cash, checks, VISA or MasterCard payments. Payments should be directed to the Community Education office.

Daily Late Pick-Up Charges

Daily late charges from 6:01 to 6:05 p.m. are $5 per child. Additional late charges are $1 per minute, per child for each succeeding minute. When a parent is going to be late, a call to the "Open Door" room would be appreciated; however, the late charge will still be assessed and payment is expected immediately. Please keep your emergency pick-up list current.
