Pam Shelton
Pam Shelton is a former classroom teacher who became Community Education
director in 1995. As a parent and educator she also knows the value of enrichment
programs and the many opportunities they provide. Her specialty is finding
resourceful ways to fund new and exciting programs for Yukon Community Education.
Pam is also active in Community Education at the national level holding
the office of President for the National Community Education Association
and Past-President of the Oklahoma Community Education Association.
Judy Reiff
Judy Reiff joined the Community Education staff in 1987 under the direction
of Wanece Gibson. Staffed by two people and armed with a typewriter and
one telephone, the CE program was based in what was known as the "cottage."
Judy's job duties include serving as "Children's Coordinator"
and financial secretary for the Community Education office.
Susan Myrick
Susan Myrick is a former speech therapist who retired from teaching to
raise her family. Working in the Helping Hand/Community Education nursery
since 1987 led to being the "Open Door" coordinator in 1996.
At that time, "Open Door" was limited to three elementary schools.
"Open Door" now serves all seven Yukon elementary schools with
before and after-school care and six after-kindergarten programs. An avid
wrestling fan, Susan and her family continue to be active in the Yukon
Take Down club.
Dianne Jantzen
Dianne Jantzen began her career with Yukon Public Schools as a Helping
Hand volunteer in 1983. After five years of volunteer service, she became
the attendance secretary at Yukon Mid High for the next 14 years joining
the Community Education staff in 1998. Her job as office manger includes
creating course brochures and publicity as well as maintaining ongoing
classes and enrollment.
Advisory Council
The Yukon Community Education Advisory Council is comprised of civic leaders,
parents, former educators, local business leaders, and high school students
who form a partnership with Community Education to provide support and
recommendations for Community Education programs.
